Does The Museum of Modern Art Engage Diversity?

Today, The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)’s evolving collection contains almost 200,000 works from around the world spanning the last 150 years. As one of the major art institutions in the world, the history of MoMA's exhibition and acquisition have greatly influenced mainstream art. In other words, what has not been presented or collected by MoMA was overlooked or undervalued by the mainstream art world. It is therefore critical to examine the museum's history and resources to diagnose its diversity.

This research project is a manifestation of an institutional critique that compiled several analyses of disparity in the museum collection, exhibition history and leadership. The project features gender and nationality analysis as well as the sum of the number of artworks by department.
